Tax Tips:
The Children's Fitness Credit allows parents to claim the costs of registering children under the age of 16 in eligible fitness or sports programs. Check the government guidelines for eligibility rules. The maximum cost on which the credit is based will be $500. There are enhanced rules for disabled children.

The Canada Employment Amount is $1,000 for 2007. Anyone with employment income in 2007 can claim this non-refundable credit.


If you provide in-home care to a parent or grandparent age 65 or older, or to any dependent relative who is 18 or over and infirm, you may be able to claim the caregiver amount. The claim is available for dependants whose net income is less than $17,363.
